Roma coach Claudio Ranieri has explained why Daniele De Rossi was sacked after fans targeted several players at the football club.

“Many people criticise him (Pellegrini). But how many midfielders have score as many goals as him? I came here to help Roma and I explain my plans to him.”
“He’s starting to develop into what he wants. He’s a quiet, open young man who has suffered more than anyone else in this situation. And He’s not the one who pushed De Rossi away. The fans have to know that, and Mancini and Cristante too.”
